Minutes of Annual Membership Meeting

Strawberry School Library, May 9, 2011

Meeting called to order at 7pm.

Attendance:
All board members (Michel Stamoulis, RaeAnn Thurlow, Tim Casey, Suzy Felgen, and Gail Simons), and 5 general association members. (attendance list attached)

Michel welcomed our newest members with a description of our association, a bit of its history, and the services that the association provides.

The meeting was opened to questions and concerns from the members.

Renter, Bryan Petker asked if we can get a heater for the pool. The current solar heating system was discussed, as well as the trees that partially shade it. It was felt that members might support this project. RaeAnn made a MOTION and Suzy 2nd it to create a committee to explore this issue. Approved. Gail volunteered to be on a committee with Bryan to do this.

Suzy made a MOTION to hold a garage sale for the association this June or July. Tim 2nd it. Approved. Suzy volunteered to head this up.

Michel explained the importance of getting to know our neighbors, and neighborhood. This will keep us safer in case of disaster and will help in crime prevention.

Michel introduced the idea of an email list for those who want to use that format for receiving RGHA communications. This would be optional, of course. We planned to ask for email addresses in our next newsletter, and Gail will ask when people pick up their pool keys. Penny Chee has done a survey of our neighborhood and Horseshoe Cir.-found that 50% of our street lights are out (City saving $), but only 25% of Horseshoe Cir. lights are out. Suzy will call the City, call the results to Penny, and notify the board the reason for the discrepancy.

Penny noted that the cell phone reception in Bennett Valley and Fountain Grove are poor. Discussion was held of the possibility of having another tower at Strawberry school. (Verizon reception is better than ATT here).

Meeting adjourned at 7:45pm. Board invited all present to attend the board meeting to follow.
